Demo against police for not arresting student’s killers

TOBA TEK SINGH: Scores of people belonging to Jhang staged a demonstration against City police for not arresting the murder accused at Shahbaz Chowk here on Tuesday.
The protesters led by Toba DHQ Hospital former MS Dr Sikandar Hussain were chanting slogans against police for not arresting killers of seminary student Umm-e-Baneen Zohra. Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Dr Sikandar said that his 13-year-old niece Zohra was a student of a seminary situated on Waryamwala Road, Toba Tek Singh, for the last seven years. He said that his family received a phone call on November 21 and was told that Zohra had been found dead in her room in the seminary. He said that although police registered a case against the seminary head and his wife, yet they were allegedly reluctant to arrest them. On information, DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar reached the spot and assured them that Kamalia DSP Rana Khalid Rasheed would lead a police team to probe the case. He also assured them of providing justice.
