SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said the government had made every commodity costlier, adding that the masses were being given only lollipops.
Talking to media persons here, Khursheed Shah underlined that the government had completely failed in controlling the price hike. “A budget is being presented after every three months,” he charged.
He said only plans are there and nothing has been done practically. More taxes are being slapped on edibles and food items. The commodities that are cheaper are of no use to the people, he added. The government has failed to strike a balance between inflation and salaries of employees, he remarked.
The opposition leader also demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to tender an apology to the nation for not delivering his pledge for ending the loadshedding.“Before coming to power Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had promised to end loadshedding within three months. This promise has not been fulfilled so far and now promises are being made to end loadshedding in 2018. I demand the prime minister to offer an apology to the nation for not fulfilling his promise and making a wrong statement besides informing the nation about the real causes,” he said.
He held that different projects were being installed in Punjab while Sindh was being ignored. He alleged that the government had obtained historical amount of loans. “The prime minister is not giving a reply to any one of my letters. I will bring all the letters to parliament,” he added.Responding to a question, he said State Minister Abid Ali was a child. “Don’t discuss about him.”
