KARACHI: Energy plays a critical role in the economic development of a country. However, inconsistent policies over the decades have left an enormous energy deficit that has severely hit the private sector, a statement said on Monday.
Several manufacturing and production sectors in the country have; hence, diversified their energy mix for commercial benefits, it said.
The installation of 125kWp project at Wah Nobel Limited is one such example of an industrial renewable energy initiative, it said.
The state-of-the-art solar system is installed with a remote monitoring device. The system was completely designed and deployed by Reon Energy Limited, the statement said.
The visionary management of POF has further embarked on a 1MWp project at Wah Chemicals Limited.
Inam ur Rahman, CEO of Reon Energy Limited, said: "The increasing viability of solar power is making it the most effective component in the overall energy mix for businesses and industry in the country."
"Effective policies should be formulated to facilitate and fund such renewable energy investments," he said.
Reon Energy Limited is a vibrant, renewable energy division of Dawood Hercules Limited - the largest diversified private sector energy provider in Pakistan.
With an ever-increasing energy demand, Pakistan today is in immense need of a diversified energy mix. It is essential that the private and public entities together make efforts to curb the energy crisis.
With adequate support from financial and developmental organisations, renewable energy infrastructure development can be accelerated and further be integrated into national policies and programmes, he added.
