NBF playing role in disseminating knowledge
Islamabad National Book Foundation (NBF) has been playing an important and central role in dissemination of knowledge, literary and positive activities regarding book promotion culture among people in Pakistan. National Book Foundation (NBF) has been playing an important and central role in dissemination of knowledge, literary and positive activities regarding book promotion culture among people in Pakistan.
The chief guest, Irfan Siddiqui, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Affairs, expressed these views while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Stone Book here, says a press release.
The Stone Book is made of single rock stone which is a masterpiece for the viewers. It is carved by a single stone weighing more than six tons. The artists made it in an artistic manners and completed it within three months period and it is the largest Stone Book in Asia.
He appreciated NBF and said that it is progressing day by day in developing good habit of book-reading among Pakistanis. “The services rendered by NBF in persuading people towards reading books is an extra ordinary job,” he said.
Irfan Siddiqui visited the Bookshop, Readers Book Club, Text Books Corner, National Book Museum and National Book Park and applauded these sites. The large number of scholars, authors, poets and teachers attended the function.
He praised particularly statues of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, Saadat Hassan Minto and Mirza Ghalib placed in the National Museum in NBF.
NBF Managing Director Prof. Dr. Inamul Haq Javeid briefed the chief guest on the achievement and performance of the NBF and said that NBF is forwarding towards right directions. Managing Director, thanked the guests to come in NBF and encouraging remarks expressed by him to boost up it upto mark.
