KARACHI: Meezan Bank has signed an agreement with IME Remit for remittance services, the bank said in a statement on Monday.
IME Remit is a money transfer company based in Malaysia. Under this agreement, Meezan Bank will provide remittance payments through its network across Pakistan.
This arrangement will facilitate Pakistanis living in Malaysia, Nepal and the UK for sending money to their families.
Moreover, this will enable resident Pakistanis to receive inbound remittances through IME Remit at any branch of Meezan Bank, in cash, as well as remittance transfer in any bank account in Pakistan, the statement said.
Meezan Bank President and CEO Irfan Siddiqui said this initiative will also increase home remittances through Islamic banking system, promising timely and prompt delivery to the beneficiaries through highly secure channels.
