SUKKUR: A team of students visited the Pano Aqil garrison on Thursday where they met Army officers and witnessed a mock rescue operation.
The students of the Institute of Business Administration in Sukkur, the Ghulam Muhammed Mahar Medical College in Sukkur, the Larkana Cadet College and the Pano Aqil Cadet School, along with their teachers, spent the whole day with the officers of the Pakistan Army at the garrison.
Students and teachers laid floral wreaths on the martyrs’ monuments and prayed for the prosperity and sovereignty of the country. The guests were briefed on various aspects of the daily routine activities of the Pakistan Army.
The Army officers also responded to the questions asked by the students. The students witnessed a demonstration of a mock rescue operation conducted by the Army personnel at the Sultanpur Training Complex and the Firing Range. The mock rescue operation depicted the Pakistan Army personnel freeing hostages from the captivity of some terrorists.
After this, the students and some media personnel were given some training in self-defence. On the occasion, speaking to the media personnel, Col. Noor-ul-Islam said that such activities would also be arranged in future.
The students said they felt proud to be Pakistani citizens and were very pleased to have met the real heroes. The students witnessed a display of weapons, and they were also given a briefing on their operation. The students asked many questions during the briefing.
