‘World needs to curb human trafficking together’

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan said human trafficking had assumed an international dimension and called upon the international community to devise a coordinated strategy to find a lasting solution to the problem.
He was addressing a regional conference here on Wednesday held under the auspices of the Federal Investigation Agency in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNDOC) on human trafficking.
He governor said human trafficking was giving rise to various economic and social problems and Pakistan was making serious efforts to tackle this problem.
He said that an Anti-Human Trafficking Cell had been established at the FIA, which in 2014 had arrested 785 smugglers said t be transporting people to other countries.
He praised the role of judiciary against human trafficking and said training of judges by the UN had proved helpful in this regard.
