LAHORE
A lecturer of Punjab University was found dead at an office under mysterious circumstances in the South Cantonment police limits Thursday.
The lecturer was identified as Syed Haider Raza Rizvi. Investigation Officer, SI Sher Mohammad said that the victim was found in a pool of blood in an office, (solar technology). He said that he was a friend of the owners of the office and used to come there.
Police official said that when the guard opened the office in the morning, he found him in a pool of blood. He informed police and owners of the office. Police reached the incident place on information and shifted the victim to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
IO said that the victim’s one leg was broken in a road accident few years before. He walked with the help of crutches. He said that ‘circumstantial evidences’ suggested that he died due to excessive loss of blood due to cutting of a vein of victim’s leg. He said that the victim was found in a separation made by glasses in the office. He said that glass was broken and a cut was found on his leg. He said it seemed that victim fell due to some reason, hit the glass and received injuries that led to his eventual death.
He said that however, autopsy and investigation would help ascertain the cause of his death. He said that the victim was a lecturer at Punjab University and belonged to Sindh. Police have removed the body to morgue and informed the family of the deceased person.

Police said that a passerby informed them about a man lying unconscious on the roof of an abandoned house. Police reached the incident place and shifted the victim to a nearby hospital where he died. Police removed the body to morgue, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and registered the statements of eye-witnesses.
Police said that they found no marks of torture or injury on victim’s body. He said that autopsy and investigation would help to ascertain the cause and other facts behind his death.
PATROLLING POST: The Additional Inspector General of Police Punjab Highway Patrol Dr Arif Mushtaq has declared patrolling post Sodhra, Gujranwala the post of the month after comparing performance across the province.
Additional IG announced commendation certificate class 2nd for all the personnel posted there.
There is no incident of heinous crime in the jurisdiction of said patrolling post; 1,124 commuters were given help in emergency, one lost child was handed over to his parents and nine persons were arrested in eight cases of narcotics and rash driving.
