The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 12.6 kilograms of heroin, 10 kilograms of hashish and 450 grams of amphetamine in 9 operations in different parts of the country, while 10 persons were apprehended for their involvement in drug trafficking. The value of the seized drugs is Rs103 million in international market, a spokesman for the ANF Headquarters said on Thursday.
The ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team, during routine profiling at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, in collaboration with the ASF, detained a passenger identified as Abdul Rehman, resident of Gujrat, after recovery of 10 kilograms of heroin concealed in his bag. He intended to fly for Italy via Dubai by Emirates Airlines flight EK-613.
The ANF Rawalpindi, in another operation carried out near Gujar Khan Bus Stop, GT Road, intercepted a motorcycle, bearing registration number RIO-23, and arrested a drug trafficker named Fateh Khan, resident of Gujar Khan, along with 4 kilograms of charas, which was found in his personal possession.
In another operation, the ANF Rawalpindi, acting on a tip-off, arrested two men, Darvesh Khan and Qabeel Khan, near Zia Masjid, Islamabad Highway, after recovery of 2.4 kilograms of charas from their possession.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team held a passenger namely Sajid Sharif, resident of Khushab, at Allama Iqbal International Airport after recovery of 700 grams of heroin concealed in his trolley bag. He was boarding for Saudi Arabia via Oman Air Flight WY-344.
In another operation, the ANF Lahore, in an operation carried out near PSO Gill Petroleum Service, Gill Chowk, Faisalabad, recovered 450 grams of amphetamine from the possession of Muhammad Habib, a resident of Faisalabad.
The ANF Lahore Airport Team apprehended a passenger, Muhammad Tanveer, resident of Sialkot, at Allama Iqbal International Airport and seized 1.9 kilograms of heroin concealed in his handbag. He intended to board for Kuwait by PIA flight PK-205.
The ANF Peshawar Airport Team detained a passenger, Khaliq, a resident of Hangu, at Peshawar Airport, who confessed to having ingested heroin-filled capsules. He was to board for Sharjah by Air Arabia flight G9-557.
The ANF Karachi arrested a local drug supplier identified as Muhammad Rehan and recovered 1.1 kilograms of charas from his personal possession. He was arrested from Nusrat Bhutto Colony, Karachi.
The ANF Karachi, in another operation carried out near Baloch Hotel Bus Stop, Liaquatabad, arrested Sharifullah alias Mian Ji after recovery of 2.2 kilograms of charas from his possession. He was allegedly involved in supply of drugs at local level.
