A female resident of Korangi took her own life on Thursday in yet another case that police believe was related to a marriage proposal.
Saira, 22, reportedly had a heated argument with her parents over the matter before she locked herself in a bedroom and used a ceiling fan to hang herself.
The body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities. Police officials said Saira wanted to marry a man of her liking but her parents were against the union.
A day earlier, a tenth grader was found hanged at his residence in Ammar Yasir Society, Malir Phase-II, and the police had cited an altercation with parents as the reason why the boy, identified as 14-year-old Mushariq, took the extreme step.
