MANSEHRA: The technical team of Hazara University has selected two sites for the construction of campus in Oghi as government approved Rs550 million for the project.
The team led by director works Saleem Raza inspected the sites in Butti and Bandi Sadiq area in Oghi.The sites, which according to the technical team were feasible for constriction of the campus, would be referred to Higher Education Commission for approval and then the construction would be started.
Member National Assembly Mohammad Safdar, the son-in-law of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, has allocated Rs550 million from his annual development funds for the project after the people of Oghi demanded the campus of the Hazara University.
Sources in the varsity said that the administration was making arrangements to start the classes in a rented building. MNA Safdar has already constituted a committee of local notables to overlook the affairs of the proposed Hazara University campus project.
Meanwhile, Secretary Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Attaur Rehman visited the Hazara University where the vice-chancellor briefed him about various projects and educational activities.
