Rawalpindi: The Al Khidmat Foundation (AKF) Pakistan has distributed hygiene kits among 300 prisoners at Central Jail Adiala with a purpose to provide them basic health facilities.
AKF Pakistan Vice President Syed Ehsanullah Waqas, AKF Razakar Programme National Director Mushtaq Mangat and workers of the foundation were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ehsanullah Waqas regretted that even the basic health facilities are not available in prisons of the country. “We should hate crime and not the criminals,” he said.
He said that the AKF Pakistan had carried out many welfare activities for prisoners including installation of filtration plants, dispensaries, construction of washrooms and kitchens, provision of wheelchairs and organisation of medical, eye, dental and blood camps and distribution of Eid gifts. “Holding such programmes bring about positive change in behaviour of prisoners," Waqas said.
