Rickshaw driver among two dead in mishaps
A rickshaw driver was one of the two persons who lost their lives, while two others suffered injuries in mishaps in Karachi on Sunday.
According to police, the rickshaw driver, who was later identified as 35-year-old Shakir, lost his life in a road accident which took place near the Babar Market in Landhi.
Police said the accident took place when a speedy dumper hit the rickshaw after which the driver lost his life on the spot.
Police and rescuers attended the scene and moved the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy. Police said the dumper driver managed to flee from the scene after the accident. A case had been registered against the unidentified driver, the police added.
Separately, a boy was electrocuted to death at a house located in the Mansehra Colony. According to the Quaidabad police, the victim’s body was taken to the JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased was 13-year-old Osama, son of Hashim. The police said the deceased was electrocuted to death inside his house and an investigation was under way.
In another mishap, two people were injured when their car collided with a wall near the District Jail Malir. According to the Shah Latif police, the injured were taken to the JPMC for medical treatment.
