Nine terrorists killed, two soldiers martyred in N Waziristan operation

RAWALPINDI: Nine terrorists were killed and one was apprehended, while two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and five others sustained injuries during an operation in North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.
During the intelligence-based operation, which was conducted late Saturday night in Khaisura and Dossali areas, weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
“During sanitisation of the area; fire exchange took place between terrorists and security forces. Resultantly, nine terrorists got killed and one apprehended; whereas, two soldiers embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) and five got injured,” the military’s media wing said.
Martyred Lance Naik Abdul Waheed, 29, was a resident of village Raj Kandi, Tehsil and district Muzaffarabad. He left behind three sons and a daughter. Martyred Sepoy Sakum Dad, 33, was a resident of Bandi Awan Tajawal, Changla Gali, Abbottabad. He left behind a son and a daughter, the ISPR added.
