Businessman begins ration drive in Gwadar
LONDON: A British Pakistani businessman has begun an initiative to provide hundreds of ration packs which include three months of essential supplies including rice, flour, wheat, lentils, ghee and tea in Gwadar.
The distribution of ration packs commenced earlier this week with International Port City acting as the distribution centre. The volunteers will be going door to door distrusting the ration packs to those who didn’t have the means of transport to come to us.
Speaking to The News, the businessman, Zeeshan Shah said: “We would like to thank DG Gwadar Development Authority Shazeb Kakar, the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce for their ongoing support and the Pakistan armed forces for their ongoing support.
“As a responsible organisation involved in the cohesive development of Pakistan, we are here to assist all institutions across the country regardless of geographic location.”
Shah said he will donate over 50,000 masks to doctors, medical professionals and others in the city in order to combat the viral outbreak of Covid-19. Balochistan has seen 600 cases so far.
Gwadar is considered to be a game-changer not only for Pakistan but for the entire region due to its strategic location. Gwadar Smart City Integrated Plan also shows how the city will embrace a futuristic vision and evolve to become one of the trade hubs of South Asia.
