RAWALPINDI: Two more Pakistani civilians were injured after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary late Saturday night, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj-Gen Babar Iftikhar said on Sunday.
The Indian ceasefire violations were “deliberately targeting civilian population”, Maj-Gen Iftikhar said in a tweet. “Indian troops made indiscriminate fire of mortars in the Chirikot sector along LoC and Shakargarh sector that left two innocent civilians injured.”
In the Chirikot sector, a 35-year-old innocent civilian resident of Serian village got injured and in the Shakargarh sector along the Working Boundary, a 57-year-old resident of village Nangal sustained serious injuries, he added. The DG ISPR said both wounded civilians were evacuated and are being provided with medical care.
On Saturday, the DG ISPR said six Pakistani civilians were seriously injured — among them two teenage girls — in Indian ceasefire violations along the LoC over a span of 24 hours. Pakistan Army effectively responded to the Indian firing.
