A woman died and at least sixteen persons received injuries in the incidents of roof and wall collapses taken place in various parts of the city on Tuesday.
A woman died while her husband and five children sustained injuries when the roof of their house collapsed in Subzazar area.
The victim was identified as Gull Bibi, 58, wife of Shireen Khan of Dubanpura Subzazar. Injured Shireen Khan, his three daughters and two sons were admitted to a local hospital where condition of a child was said to be critical.
Among the injured children were Razia, Rohiya, Shehryar Khan and Banarus.
The family was asleep when the roof collapsed, rescuers said. In another incident, at least four persons received injuries when the roof of an under-construction mosque collapsed on Raiwind Road. Upon being informed, the rescuers rushed to the spot, pulled the injured out of the debris and rushed them to a local hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger.
Yet in another incident, six members of a family got injuries when the roof of their house collapsed in the Green Acre area on Raiwind Road. —Correspondent
