It was said by DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar while addressing a District Education Review Committee meeting here on Monday. The DCO said that 95 per cent Education Department schemes had been completed in the district. He informed that Rs 315 million would be spent on the repair or reconstruction of 84 buildings of different schools, which were declared dangerous while tenders had also been called for it. The DCO directed to provide alternate staff to the Health Department instead of teachers for polio vaccination duty. DMO Asif Ali Dogar told that his teams visited 690 schools in August and 14 teachers were found absent. He added that after inquiry, four of them had been terminated from service while eight were fined. DO Secondary Akram Ch, DO Elementary Malik Altaf and others also attended the meeting.
