DIR: The affected villages were sealed and declared quarantines and medical teams weare sent for screening and test of people for the coronavirus after three more Covid-19 positive cases reported in Upper Dir district.
The affected villages including Amrait, Usheri Darra, Dolaar, Karo Darra, and Onkaar were sealed and declared quarantines after the suspected patients from them tested positive.
The patients were later shifted to isolation wards established at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Dir Town and Dislawar.
District Health Officer Dr Fayyaz Ali along
with officials of police and security forces and medical teams visited the affected village Amrait despite torrential rain and screened the residents for the fatal infectious disease.
The doctors took samples from eight persons who had interacted with one of the patients. The DHO said that the samples had been sent to Peshawar and the results were expected to be received in a couple of days.
Dr Fayyaz said that two other villages had also been quarantined and medical teams had been sent for taking samples and screening of the residents.
He said that samples of 20 other suspected patients had also been sent to laboratory.
Meanwhile, former federal minister and Pakistan People’s Party leader Najamuddin Khan has offered his building located in Dir city to health department for quarantine free of cost. The DHO has visited the building and thanked him for his generous offer.
