18 held for violating Section 144

BANNU: The police arrested 18 persons and impounded 53 vehicles for violating Section 144 imposed to restrict the movement of people owing to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic in the district. DPO Yasir Afridi said the action was taken against those who violated the ban on pillion riding, assembly of people and other gatherings.He said the government decision to observe complete lockdown would be implemented in letter and spirit to protect people from the fast-travelling viral infection. The official appealed to the people to follow the govt instructions, cooperate with police and stay home to stay safe from the Covid-19.
