ISLAMABAD: Twenty20 specialist and one of the most sought after bowlers in the league cricket around the world, Sohail Tanvir hopes to get a team of his choice during the Caribbean Cricket League (CPL) starting from September 4.
Tanvir who makes every possible effort to stay fit and ready even during days of isolation, said he was preparing for the CPL. The left arm pacer was optimistic on the CPL and its getting under way in time. “There is a good possibility that CPL will go ahead as planned. I am very much in the draft and my negotiations with CPL franchises is very much. I am hopeful to get the team of my liking.”
The left arm pacer also welcomes the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decision to formulate a clear policy on cricketers participation in leagues being played around the world. “Though I am not centrally contracted but has contract with provincial association. I believe that four leagues for central contractual players is a welcoming decision by the board. Previously there was no clear policy leaving players and franchises around the world guessing on the Pakistani players availability. Sometime these franchises have to look for other options at the eleventh hour which totally shatter their plans. A clear policy would definitely help Pakistan cricketers as well as interested franchise in hiring and on the availability of cricketers. No policy previously had already threatened Pakistan cricketers engagements around the world. Now I am sure everyone would see more participation of Pakistani cricketers in T20 leagues from here on.” Tanvir who possibly is the best and most experience T20 bowler in the country does not lose hope of making a comeback in the national team.
