Public asked to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in sealed localities
Rawalpindi : SP Rawal Rai Mazhar Iqbal Sunday visited four localities in Sadiqabad area including Dhoke Kala Khan, Dhoke Kashmirian, Magistrate Colony and Dhoke Paracha that were sealed on Saturday for public movement with deployment of police pickets and military personnel to monitor the situation.
To restrict public movement, Rawalpindi Police playing frontline role to ensure public inside their homes amidst prevailing lockdown in the city, said SP Rawal Rai Mazhar Iqbal.
Following the reports of Coronavirus suspects in four localities of Sadiqabad, SP Rawal Rai Mazhar Iqbal visited the area and shifted the suspects of Covid-19 from this area to Quarantine facility.
Four localities of Sadiqabad have been sealed with deployment of police after reports of suspected Covid-19 victims from Dhoke Kashmirian, Dhoke Paracha, Magistrate Colony and Dhoke Kala Khan who were shifted to Quarantine facility established in district Rawalpindi.
SP Rawal on his visit to sealed areas here on Sunday briefed police officials to behave gently with public and also appealed to public to stay inside homes and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to control Coronavirus outbreak.
SP Rawal also maintained that Rawlpindi Police committed to ensure protection of citizens against Coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, on instructions of IG Punjab, police officials deployed at Quarantine facilities and in suspected Covid-19 areas are being provided with Personal Protection Kit to ensure safety of police officials.
Similarly, police mess fund has also been provided to respective police stations in accordance of the strength of police officials deputed at police stations in the Rawalpindi.
CPO Rawalpindi DIG Muhammad Ahsan Younis said that major police stations are being advised to ensure food arrangements for police officials deployed at Quarantine facilities and in sealed areas adding that Rs.50,000 for major police stations and Rs30,000 for smaller police station have been provided in connection of mess expenditures for police stations.
Police has been playing frontline force role in view of Coronavirus pandemic and all possible arrangements will be employed to ensure safety of police officials in this regard, said CPO Rawalpindi Muhammad Ahsan Younis.
