Pakistan Post is a federal government organisation which is extending multiple services to the general public like communication, mail, pension payment, tax collection, saving bank etc. This department comes under Essential Services Act, 1958 and it is supposed to operate in emergency situations like war, epidemic, earthquake etc. In the prevalent situation Pakistan Post is primarily focusing on payment of pension, transmission of government advisories and supplies related to health department. As overall provision of preventive material for COVID-19 is very short and all departments like Police, Army and even health are operating within available resources so is Pakistan Post. Pension is the only source of income for majority of retired employees to meet their monthly expenditure therefore it has been given top priority even in this crisis situation. Pakistan Post has provided all necessary things to the employees who have been assigned with the task of pension payment at the doorsteps. These things include masks, gloves and hand sanitizers etc. As for as N95 mask are concerned these are mainly required for health workers who are attending patients in hospital.
