Six coronavirus suspects discharged from Nishtar Hospital

MULTAN: Six suspects of having coronavirus were discharged from the isolation ward of Multan Nishtar Hospital after being tested negative for the disease on Wednesday.

According to the hospital doctors, the samples of the suspects were despatched for testing. However, the hospital administration refused to provide details of the discharged suspects. Reportedly, one female coronavirus suspect named Shela is under treatment at the isolation ward.

Talking to this scribe, coronavirus focalperson Dr Attaur Rehman said six suspects were tested negative and were discharged from the hospital. He said two doctors and one isolation ward worker were among the discharged suspects. He said the blood screening reports of three suspects, including a one-year-old baby, were being awaited at the isolation ward. Meanwhile, the city district administration has directed the Rapid Response Unit to start coronavirus screening of Pakistanis arriving from abroad. According to the administration, citizens can call Rescue 1122 in case of any complaint regarding the virus. They are advised to contact the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office control at 061-4500964 for any help relating to coronavirus. According to officials, the RRU has completed blood screening of more than twelve citizens during the last four days and majority of them tested negative. Reportedly, officials of Tehsil Shujabad officials have traced 95 people who recently returned from abroad and they were put in quarantine at their houses. The sources said DC Amir Khatak has restricted the officials from providing details of the coronavirus suspects to the media.
