Total lockdown
March 25, 2020
A lockdown is important to achieve the objectives of preventing a pandemic spread. We have been witnessing an unnecessary debate over whether or not a total lockdown is justified. Both arguments are valid. Those worried about jobs and food security for the poor opposed the demand for lockdown like the prime minister.
On the other side, if the situation gets out of control like in Italy, Spain and Iran then a full lockdown is the only remedy available to curb the situation. Therefore, a full lockdown is important to limit the spread of Covid-19 by breaking the chain of transmission through physical contact.
