SUKKUR: Minister for Industry and Trade, Anti-Corruption and Cooperation, Dr Jam Ikramullah Dharijo has said the nation could defeat coronavirus only after being united, saying it is time that everyone should support the Sindh government's decision to lockdown the province by keeping themselves within their homes.
Talking to media persons, while distributing face masks and sanitizers among the police and Rangers personnel in Ghotki, Ikramullah Dharijo said the nation has to crush the danger of coronavirus outbreak in this challenging period. He suggested everyone to maintain social distance to protect not only oneself but also family and friends, adding that without the public support, the government could not defeat the menace.
The provincial minster said considering the hardships of poor, government has established ration distribution centres in Ghotki and other places in Sindh, requesting people to come forward to help others in this difficult time. He said the Sindh government knew the issues of daily wagers and poor, but the decision to lockdown was in the favour of the people to protect them from possible outbreak of the virus.
Ikramullah Dharijo said Sindh is the home of Sufis and saints, while the people of Sindh are well united at the difficult time to meet the challenges. He said the Sindh’s captain, on the directives of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, took all feasible measures to prevent the virus from spreading, urging people to take precautionary measures themselves too. Meanwhile, no new case of coronavirus was reported in Ghotki district on Monday.
