Woman recovered from captivity of husband
OKARA: A woman was recovered from the captivity of her husband on Wednesday.
Humera Manzoor of Military Dairy Farm of Okara was married to Irshad Baig of Faisal Mehmood Colony, Okara, in 2018. They developed differences and Humera came to her father house. After a few days, Irshad, his brother Zulfiqar Baig, his mother Shahnaz Bibi, sister-in- law Amna Bibi visited the house of her father and brought her back. Reportedly, at their house they chained her, shaved her head and kept her in a room. On the report of her brother Zahid Abbas, B/Division police recovered her and registered a case.
PLANTATION DRIVE INAUGURATED: DC Usman Ali Wednesday inaugurated the tree plantation drive at Pipli Pahar Government Forestry. On the occasion, the DC said despite troubles we should continue our efforts for national development and meet our targets. Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Arooba Azeem, Assistant Commissioner Depalpur Khalid Abbas Sial, Deputy Director Development M Nisar, Divisional Forest Officer Gohar Mushtaq, SDO Forest Iftikhar Ahmed Janjua and Range Officer M Rizwan were also present on the occasion. Briefing the DC, the Divisional Forest Officer said some 450,000 saplings would be planted at the forestry.
Preparations complete to contain coronavirus: The DC said protective arrangements have been completed to contain the spread of coronavirus across the district. Talking to reporters, the DC said the people have been told to take precautionary measures to combat the spread of the virus. The DC urged the media to inform the people about safety measures against the virus. He also asked officers to facilitate the people in resolving their problems.
GOVT ACTIONS AGAINST CORONAVIRUS FLAYED: Pakistan Peoples’ Party leader Nawab Pathan Wednesday accused the govt of doing nothing against the spread of coronavirus in the country. Talking to reporters, Pathan said the government must inform the people about precautionary measures against the virus. He said people should fear Almighty Allah, not the virus.
‘CORONAVIRUS SPREAD TO BE CONTAINED’: The PTI leader and former minister Ashraf Sohna Wednesday said the spread of coronavirus would be stemmed with the appropriate measures of the government. He said the federal and provincial governments are in the knowledge of the severity of the situation in terms of the spread of the virus. He said there is complete harmony between all government’s departments concerned in this regard. The PTI leader said the Punjab government has equipped the hospital and health departments to cope with the situation in an effective way. Meanwhile, PML-N leader and founder president of the Okara Chamber of Commerce & Industry Flt-Lt (retd) Chaudhry Arshad Iqbal accused the government of inaction in terms of finding solution to the crisis emerged owing to the spread of coronavirus. He said the PML-N leadership made the country an atomic power but the incumbent rulers have brought the country to the verge of coronavirus-generated crisis.a
