GDA to set up food street in Nathiagali

ABBOTTABAD: The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has initiated a project to establish a food street in the scenic Nathiagali valley, which will offer local cuisines of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This was stated by GDA Director Raza Habib at a meeting here on Monday.
Secretary Sports, Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, Museums & Youth Affairs Department Azam Khan, who is also director general of the GDA, attended the meeting besides Additional Secretary Sports, Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, Museums and Youth Affairs Muhammad Tariq, Deputy Secretary Adil Safi and GDA Deputy Director Usman Mohmand. Various projects related to development of Galiyat and computerisation of the GDA land records were approved in the meeting. The meeting felt the need to introduce a software-based service to replace the outdated paperwork methodology.
The director general also approved the establishment of Complaint Cell & Information Dissemination Centre. The public will be facilitated by providing information, addressing queries and complaints.
The cell will be managed by educated and skilled workforce. It will be available round the clock to provide services to the masses in peak summer season and off-season as well.
The complaint cell will be tasked with tourist information. Complaints about employees will also be encouraged for better work productivity and increasing efficiency. The participants also discussed a project of “Restoration of Parks through Open Competitions”.
They said the project was aimed at beautifying parks in Galiyat. These include five big parks in Ayubia, Khanaspur, Nathiagali, Changla Gali and Lalazar Park.
