One of the brothers shot at a robber while the other robber managed to escape the scene, according to the Sharea Faisal police. The suspected robbers raiding a motorbike were fleeing the scene after robbing Kaleemullah and Mazang who were also on a motorcycle, the police said.
The incident took place near the Central Government Society, the police added. Mazang opened fire from his licensed pistol, killing one of the muggers, the police said. As the police were called in, a team attended the scene and moved the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.
The police said a pistol was found in the possession of the deceased robber whose identity was yet to be ascertained. The police said they were recording the statements of the complainant and his brother.
