KARACHI: Pakistan failed to participate in the ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships because of shortage of funds.
“Two boys and one coach were to participate in this Regional Qualifying event held in Manila from January 13-25, but the sponsor backed out at the eleventh hour,” said an official of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) while talking to ‘The News’.
The official added that PTF was short of funds since it had not received Davis Cup money from International Tennis Federation (ITF). “These were the main reasons so we could not apply for visas. We did not have enough time,” said the official.
