Student hurt in clash between two groups at BZU
MULTAN: A student sustained injuries in a clash between two groups of students at Bahauddin Zakariya University’s Gilani Law College on Monday.
The clash erupted between a group of Pashtoon students from Balochistan and Peoples Students Federation at a canteen over a minor matter. Both the groups exchanged hot words and then the PSF activists moved towards Gilani Law College to avoid clash.
However, the Pashtoon students continuously chased them to Gilani Law College where PSF students allegedly opened firing. As a result, Muhammad Zahid of Bachelor of Public Administration was injured and he was admitted to Nishtar Hospital. The students broke wind screens of cars parked outside the Law College.
BZU Resident Officer Prof Dr Rehan Sadiq said that heavy contingents of police had been deputed soon after the clash and RPO Wasim Ahmed Khan and CPO Zubair Dreshak reached the university. The situation was now in control, he said.
