KARACHI: Bilal Friends and Mansoora Sports won their matches comfortably in Prof Ejaz Farooqi Invitation Cricket Tournament at Landhi Gymkhana and TMC Ground, respectively, on Sunday.
In the first game, at Landhi Gymkhana, Bilal Friends beat Bright Gymkhana by eight wickets. Bright Gymkhana batting first scored 283 in 45 overs. Haider Ali scored brilliant 95 with 13 boundaries and two huge sixes, while Zain Anwer scored 46 and Sharafat Ali 27. Muhammad Talha took 3 for 46 and Osama Butt took 2 for 42.
Bilal Friends reached the target n 35.3 overs. Osama Butt hit 140 not out with 18 fours, while Afroz Hasan scored unbeaten 107 runs with 14 fours and one six. Zain Anwar and Zarar Shah took one wicket each.
At TMC Ground, Mansoora Sports defeated Orangi Star Cricket Club by eight wickets. Saad Ansari amassed 95 from 88 balls in a total of 241-9 in 45 overs. Muhammad Akif and Arham Kashif took three wickets each.
Mansoora Sports raced to the target in just 29.3 overs. Fawad Ghafoor scored 80 not out with 10 fours, while Hazrat Amin scored 51, Mutiur Rehman 46 and Arif Zaidi 33 not out. Jafer Shah and Saqib Qureshi got one wicket each.
