KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) organised a three-day free-of-charge surgical eye camp at Taluka Headquarters Hospital, Kandhkot in Kashmore district near PPL-operated Kandhkot Gas Field, a statement said on Friday.
The eye camp, which concluded on January 22 has Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital as the implementing partner, it added. The camp benefitted over 2,100 locals who were provided consultation, treatment and medicines during the three days.
Among these, 1,200 patients were provided spectacles, while more than 160 on-site cataract surgeries were performed.
PPL regularly organises eye camps around its producing assets in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab on an annual basis to provide an end-to-end healthcare solution for various ophthalmic issues faced by the local communities, it added.
