Foreign posting as press ministers, attaches: Board meets to select officers
ISLAMABAD: The high level selection board of the Ministry of Information met here on Thursday to select press officers for posting as press ministers and press attachés.
Special Assistant to the PM on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan chaired the board meeting.
Secretary/Additional Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary/Additional Secretary Establishment Division, Secretary/Additional Secretary Commerce Ministry, and Secretary Ministry of Information attended.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had recently approved the board for selection of officers who had shown performance in public relationing.
According to sources, over 50 officers took part in the examination for postings to the United States, China, India, Saudi Arabia, France Belgium, Canada, Sri Lanka Japan, Singapore,, Iran, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Egypt and 16 other countries.
The examination was conducted at the NUML University, Islamabad in September last year as per the government rules. After the examination, the officers who performed well in the examination were shortlisted.
Sources said after 8-hour interviews, the board members signed the results for ensuring transparency. In the next step, the summary would be sent to the prime minister for final approval.
