Rabies deaths
January 23, 2020
Recently there were a number of reports regarding dog-bite victims dying of rabies. Mostly the deaths occurred due to either the untimely treatment of the illness or the unavailability of the requisite medicines in the hospitals. Unfortunately, no action has been taken by the provincial governments or the municipal administrations to rid the streets of feral dogs.
The concerned authorities must give serious thought to this issue and not try to sweep it under the rug. In addition, they should ensure the availability of anti-rabies medicines in all hospitals.
