For a country like Pakistan with an agriculture-based economy, it is time to address the decline of agriculture produce. One of the major factors behind this terminal problem is the ongoing decrease in agricultural land. Agricultural land has continuously fallen prey to the land mafia, who in collaboration with influential stakeholders, seem to have blinded our political leaders to the disastrous long-term consequences of their criminal activity. It is in such times that political leaders with vision need to stand up to vested interests and ensure that the public interest overrides the avarice of powerful cliques.
