PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced to observe protest across the province against the lingering flour crisis and hike in prices of daily use items on Friday.
The call for protest was given by provincial president of the JI, Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan. Through a statement issued here, he said that the district heads of the party have been directed to stage protests at all the big cities of the province. Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that the flawed policies of the incompetent rulers had made life miserable for the people. The flour crisis across the country was tantamount to killing the people, he went on to add. The JI leader added that the prices of daily use items have gone out of the reach of the general public. "The rulers have no plan or vision to control the situation," he said, adding, the government had failed both on internal and external fronts. The worst economic crisis in the country, he said, showed that the rulers were incapable, incompetent, who were neither capable nor committed to overcoming the problems of the masses. "The poor external policies of the rulers have also pushed the country towards complete isolation," he maintained. Mushtaq Ahmad Khan said that the JI would hold demonstrations across the province to press the government to mend its ways.
