Corruption in Pakistani society has permeated every segment of society. International donor bodies are also not immune. Several reports have revealed that the local employees of international donor bodies and NGOs are indulging in corrupt practices in partnership with authority persons in various public sector organizations.
Scandals concerning the mismanagement of donations, corruption, and massive amounts paid out to third-parties have left today’s donors questioning the authenticity of NGO sponsored initiatives. Unfortunately, in a society numbed by endemic corruption, such scandals fail to elicit much attention or concern.
