Guests at Hanif Abbasi son’s wedding ceremony discuss political situation
ISLAMABAD: The political situation prevailing in the country was candidly discussed by the guests turned up for the wedding ceremony of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) central leader Hanif Abbasi’s son Hammas Abbasi with Maryam Shaheen on Sunday evening.
The guests consist of predominantly from the opposition parties especially the PML-N while discussing political situation criticized the government for its failures in every sphere of life. They were of the view that the government has no future since it has miserably failed in delivering on any count.
The guests were surprised that coalition partners of the government have turned angry with the government in the wake of adoption of amendments to Services Act by Parliament unanimously which could be sources of strength for the government, but the partners are posturing to part ways with it. Eminent nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, former Prime Ministers Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider, Information Minister Azad Kashmir, Mushtaq Minhas, Leader of Opposition in Senate and Chairman PML-N Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, former Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Javaid Abbasi, Senator Pervez Rashid, PML-N Central Joint Secretary Ataullah Tarrar, former PSPM Irfan Siddiquee, former federal minister Professor Ahsan Iqbal’s son and Chairman Distt Council Narowal Ahmad Iqbal, Major Muhammad Aamer, Luqman Afzal Monal, former federal minister Pervaiz Malik, Senator Pervez Rashid, former Governor KP Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and Waqar Chohan were among the guests.
The guests turned up in big number and it was viewed as the biggest wedding reception of the year. The guests kept guessing about the fate of the government as how would it be out of the political and constitutional quagmire in which it has badly entrapped. Hanif Abbasi, who served the people of Rawalpindi in various capacities and had been chairman of Metro Bus Service, was denied contesting polls in 2018 through a disputed verdict of court to stop him being get elected against a candidate who was bound to lose the election against Abbasi.
A known turn-coat was made member of assembly and later became minister. Abbasi has received felicitation from PML-N Quaid and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, leader of opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister and detained Vice President of PML-N Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the wedding of his son. They have expressed good wishes and prayed for the couple.
