PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Akbar Ayub Khan Monday directed authorities concerned to functionalise District Scrutiny Committees within 15 days.
He was presiding over a meeting on private and public schools, said an official handout. Additional Secretary Education Zarif Almani, Director Education Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim, PSRA MD Tashfin Haider, Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation MD Irfanullah Khan, President Saleem Khan, Vice President Fazlullah Dawoodzai, General Secretary Anas Takrim, Amjad Ali Shah, Shaukat Mahmood and other members of the Private Schools Education Network were present as well. The minister said the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has been created to provide facilities and regulate private schools. He said all private schools should cooperate with PSRA to resolve the problems of students and parents in time. The minister added that where there are issues related to private schools and the Private Schools Education Network will be given legal representation on the boards. Addressing the demand by the network, the minister said that he would consider giving a share in non-governmental organizations working for the betterment of the education sector to private schools.
