ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah held a one-on-one interaction after the meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) in Islamabad on September 23 in which the decision to replace the IGP Sindh wastaken. Sources said Sindh Chief Minister discussed all the issues being faced by the province, especially the law and order situation because the rate of street crimes in Karachi as well as in Sindh was on the rise. The CM was also very disappointed over the incident of Dua Mangi. He also expressed his grave concerns on the performance of Sindh IGP Dr Kaleem Imam.

Reports said the prime minister assured his full cooperation to the CM and expressed his deep concerns over the prevailing situation and also asked for three names of well-reputed officers for the new IGP Sindh. The chief minister Sindh has submitted three names of well-reputed police officers, including Kamran Fazl and Ghulam Qadir Thebo, for the new IGP Sindh after consultation with the provincial cabinet.

The meeting was held in a friendly environment in which both appreciated each other, while PM Imran Khan admitted he thought differently about the Sindh CM but he appeared to be intelligent and capable. Syed Murad Ali Shah also admitted the capabilities of the prime minister.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was the first bilateral meeting between the prime minister and chief minister Sindh without being participated by governor Sindh. The prime minister is truly striving to advance the country and has left behind all the differences between the government and opposition. He also called the governor Sindh for an immediate meeting in Islamabad to let him know about his decision and would advise him to take the government allies into confidence. Meanwhile, the PTI Sindh leadership did not know the exact situation and kept making statements against it.
