Rawalpindi After three-week winter vacation, all public and private schools reopened here on Monday. Thin presence of students witnessed in all public and private schools because of heavy rain and cold.
On the other hand, Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has refused to extend winter vacation second time despite Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned to continue severe weather till January 22.
Earlier, educational institutions were supposed to reopen on January 5, 2020. However, owing to severe cold wave the department extended the winter break and directed to reopen schools on January 13.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Saifullah Dogar has confirmed to reopen all public and private schools. Further holidays will affect course, he said.
