KARACHI: Leisure Leagues is organising an eight-team football league in collaboration with Sir Syed University at the varsity’s ground. The teams participating in the league have been named after renowned personalities of the sub-continent.
In the opening match, Dr Israr Ahmed Six overpowered Quaid-e-Azam Six 4-0. Muaz Rizvi scored a brilliant hat-trick for the winning team.
Sir Syed University’s Sports Convener Qazi Nasir Abbas was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Director Sports Mubashir Mukhtar, Leisure Leagues Manager Riaz Ahmed, Waqas Abdul Razzaq, Asif Zaheer and others were also present on the occasion.
Qazi Nasir praised Leisure Leagues for organising the event. He said that healthy activities are very important for the youth of the country.
