Gas supply to cotton mills protested
TAKHTBHAI: The members of Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Takhtbhai and locals staged protest against the gas supply to the Rehman Cotton Mills on Sunday.
Led by Chairman Abdul Sattar Tajik, the members and locals took out demonstration and blocked the road at Takhtbhai Bazaar.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Muhammad Siddique, Pakistan People’s Party leader Usman Khan, Aftab Khan, Malik Tahir Khan, Shehzad Khan and others said that they were not opposing the gas supply to the mills but worried about the citizens to be deprived of the gas as an eight inch diameter pipeline was being laid down for the gas supply to the mills.
They said that hundreds of workers had been sacked from the mills during the last year, terming it a sheer injustice to the people of Takhtbhai. They said that dilapidated condition of the Takkar Road had caused several accidents so far that was in need of an urgent repair.
