ANP lawmaker criticises PM Imran over giving ‘false hopes’
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Samar Haroon Bilour has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has given false hopes to youths in the country.
Through a statement issued here on Friday, the ANP leader said that PTI leaders had been claiming that the government would create 10 million jobs. However, she said, now Imran Khan had said that the government could not give jobs to youths.
She said the prime minister’s statement showed that the people running the government were incompetent. The lawmaker said these people could make only tall claims but not deliver in terms of governance.
Samar Haroon said the government could not put the country on the track of development, adding that instead of creating new jobs, thousands of people were rendered jobless. She said that joblessness had reached a dangerous level, fearing that the country was on the brink of bankruptcy.
The ANP leader said that the rulers had been claiming across-the-board accountability but were now finding ways to protect their cronies from accountability. She said that Peshawar was virtually destroyed with the launching of the Bus Rapid Transit project, which had been used for corruption.
The MPA said corruption in other projects, including billion tree tsunami and Malam Jabba, had destroyed the province economically. She said that repeated admissions by the prime minister and his team of the failure of the government proved that they could not deliver.
