Punjab Governor, Chief Minister vow to continue efforts for people welfare
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar held a meeting to discuss matters pertaining to progress and prosperity of the province, provision of basic facilities to people.
They vowed to continue joint efforts for the people’s welfare as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. During their meeting here at Governor House Tuesday, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar discussed government affairs and political and other issues.
Provincial Ministers Syed Sumsam Bokhari, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Dr Akhtar Malik and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed also called on Ch Sarwar.
Speaking on this occasion, the governor said that all the political parties were united on country’s interest and national security. In Sha Allah, after the National Assembly, the Army Act Amendment bill will also be passed by the Senate as well, and entire nation is standing with Pakistan Army and it is a clear and loud message to the country’s enemies that they will be responded in befitting manner whenever they resort to any misadventure against Pakistan. There is no such precedence of sacrifices as were given by Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism for establishment of peace. If India resorted to any misadventure against Pakistan, it will be given befitting response as in the past by Pakistan.
The governor said the PTI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan was adhering to the policy of making ‘One Pakistan, not the two’. The revolutionary measures taken by government in the field of health, education, agriculture and other sectors are ensuring provision of maximum relief to the masses, and Pakistan is stabilising economically and foreign investment in the country is also increasing due to the government’s well-conceived and viable policies.
Federal government’s announcement regarding billions of rupees funds for seven projects as well as for poverty alleviation and improving the water supply system in southern Punjab, is indeed an ample proof of its sincerity with people of those areas, said Sarwar. He said the government would ensure provision of maximum relief to the people as its promises made with them during its election campaign. He said that Pakistan would be made developed and prosperous country in real sense. Under the Punjab Aab Pak Authority, the work is underway speedily to provide clean drinking water to 20 million people by June 2020, and the government will fulfill its promises of clean drinking water to people in next five years, said the governor. He said the consumption of clean water would also help to reduce the ratio of fatal diseases, which are caused by contaminated water.
