Islamabad: A police constable was gunned down in the jurisdiction of Loi Bher Police Station when a police team intercepted a group of bike lifters near Swan Garden, the police spokesman said.
According to police the bike lifter had snatched the bike from Ramna but the police party chased them and intercepted them near Swan Garden but the gangsters opened fire on the police killing a constable on the spot.
The cop killed in the shooting was identified as Mohammad Ishaq.
DIG (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed constituted two teams headed by SP (Investigation) Dr. Mustafa Tanveer and SP (Rural) Malik Naeem Iqbal to investigate the issue and arrest them.
