Law enforcement agencies gunned down two alleged notorious criminals and arrested several others in the city on Saturday.
A shootout took place in District East in the wee hours of Saturday after police foiled a robbery bid and arrested a suspect in an injured condition.
SSP Jawed Jiskani said that after PIB police were informed three men were looting passengers on a bus near the old Sabzi Mandi area, a team rushed to the scene and foiled the robbery attempt. One of the robbers named Faisal Baloch was arrested in an injured condition after an encounter, while his two associates fled.
The injured suspect was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). He confessed to many street crimes and disclosed the names of his accomplices. One TT pistol and looted mobiles and a purse were found on him.

Korangi Industrial Area police thwarted a snatching bid and shot dead two alleged robbers.
SHO Shahjehan Lashari said a patrolling mobile signalled the two men to stop while they escaping towards the industrial area after looting a citizen in the Qayyumabad. However, the outlaws opened fire on the police, who returned fire and arrested both of them in an injured condition. They were moved to the JPMC where they were pronounced dead.
