ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (R) Javed Iqbal Saturday said their priority was to eradicate corruption by adopting zero tolerance policy.
“The NAB has not only expressed its resolve to expand its purview across the country, but also implemented it and now eradication of corruption has become the voice of the whole nation,” he said in a statement.
He said right now as many as 1,275 corruption references were in different accountability courts. He said in the last two years, the Rs178 billion had been recovered directly or indirectly from the corrupt and deposited in the national exchequer.
He said the officers of the NAB considered eradication of corruption as their national duty. The chairman said he had made optimum efforts to make NAB a vibrant institution immediately after taking over his current responsibilities.
