WANA: Six people, including five from the same family, were killed and two others sustained injuries when two groups exchanged fire over a petty issue at Azam Warsak Bazaar in Barmal tehsil in South Waziristan tribal district, local sources said on Friday. The sources said that the two sides exchanged harsh words over a petty matter which led to a gunbattle in which six people lost their lives. Two persons sustained injuries in the clash. The dead were identified as Zangi Khan, son of Shah Baran, Mastan Khan, son of Manda Gul, Ramazan, son of Manda Gul, Sado Khan, son of Manda Gul, and Jehangir, son of Shah Baran, Anwar and son of Gula Din. The injured included Atta Khan, son of Manda Gul. and Afsar Khan, son of Manda Gul. The injured were taken to a local hospital in Sholam. Meanwhile, the shopkeepers and traders at Azam Warsak Bazaar staged protest against the district administration and accused it of being unable to maintain law and order. The protesters said the district administration failed to maintain law and order at Azam Warsak Bazaar which led to the gory incident. The traders sought ban on the movement of vehicles with tinted glasses and the display of weapons in order to maintain law and order in South Waziristan.
